We know life gets in the way...

We understand that life can be unpredictable, and we always strive to accommodate our clients as best as we can, especially when it comes to dog hydrotherapy and pet rehabilitation sessions. If you are unable to make your appointment, we kindly ask that you send us a text with as much notice as possible before your scheduled time, particularly for sessions that involve the underwater treadmill. Please note that any no-show appointments without prior notification will incur a full session fee, which also applies to appointments lost from a 10-session package. Additionally, three consecutive no-show appointments without notification will result in your appointment time being allocated to another client, and any remaining sessions from your 10-session deal will be forfeited without a refund.

FAQs

How long does a Hydrotherapy session last?

Your pet's first session for dog hydrotherapy lasts between 30 minutes to an hour, depending on the dog's needs. During this initial appointment, we gather your pet's medical history and the reason for seeking hydrotherapy or other pet rehabilitation services. We also take measurements of the muscle mass in their legs, along with waist and chest dimensions. After completing the history and measurements, if necessary, your pet is fitted with a harness, and their hydrotherapy session begins. We proceed slowly during this first appointment to avoid overwhelming your pet, allowing us to observe how they walk on the underwater treadmill and identify any additional problematic areas. The first treadmill session lasts only 6 to 8 minutes, which may seem brief, but it equates to the equivalent of an hour's walk for your pet! Subsequent sessions will be 15 minutes long, tailored to your pet's specific needs, and their time and speed on the underwater treadmill will increase as their treatment plan progresses.

My dog doesn't like water, is hydrotherapy still an option?

Definitely; this is the most common question we are asked about dog hydrotherapy, and it is incredibly rare for us to see a pet completely panicked by the water once they are on the underwater treadmill. Unlike our pool, the underwater treadmill slowly fills up with water from the bottom of the tank, which helps prevent your pet's fear of being submerged in water. Plus, the water is heated to a lovely 30 degrees Celsius ... it's practically a spa bath, making it ideal for pet rehabilitation!

How quickly will we see results?

Think of us as the PTs of the dog world and your pooch a beginner athlete. If your dog participates in dog hydrotherapy using the underwater treadmill regularly (1-2 times per week) for a period of 6+ weeks, you can confidently expect noticeable improvements. Results do vary greatly depending on your pet's medical history, injury, or illness. As mentioned earlier, we take measurements of your pet at their first session, and then at sessions 5 and 10 to monitor their progress in pet rehabilitation. If your pet continues hydrotherapy beyond 10 sessions, we will take measurements every 5th session. By this point, you would expect to see a firmer and smaller waist with significant muscle gain on all four limbs.

Do I need to get in the water with my dog?

Not at all. If your pet requires assistance to walk on the underwater treadmill due to a medical condition or because they are a bit unsure, our friendly team is more than happy to jump in with them to provide a helping hand during their dog hydrotherapy or pet rehabilitation sessions.

Do you offer discounts?

We offer discounts on our 10 sessions package for dog hydrotherapy, especially beneficial for multi dog households. Additionally, we provide a senior pensions discount on our 10 sessions package, perfect for pet rehabilitation sessions that include the use of our underwater treadmill.

What payment options do you offer?

We accept cash, VISA, MasterCard, and bank transfers for your pets' sessions, including services like dog hydrotherapy and pet rehabilitation. We now also offer Afterpay for convenient payment options!
