Commencing in 2015, DogSwim Canberra is the ACT region's first dedicated integrated health and fitness facility for pets, centred around dog hydrotherapy. Our highly experienced and qualified team can assist with various needs, including post-operative care, pain management, rehabilitation, and fitness. We offer advanced pet rehabilitation services, including physiotherapy and animal chiropractic treatment via our visiting practitioners.

Tasmyn joined the DogSwim team in 2023 after two years as a veterinary nurse in a general practice clinic, where she developed a strong interest in canine rehabilitation while working with patients recovering from orthopaedic surgery. She understands first-hand the importance of rehabilitation, fitness, and conditioning. After her own dog, Cinnamon, suffered a cruciate ligament tear and underwent TPLO surgery, consistent hydrotherapy and physical therapy enabled him to return to competing in a range of dog sports, including dances with dogs, agility, and disc dog.

Jordan is the founder of DogSwim Canberra holding a Diploma of Small Animal Hydrotherapy (Bournemouth UK). His GSD Olinna was the one that set him on this path back in 2013. Starting small from his home garage in Jerrabomberra, then to a space co-located with Dog Boarding kennels in Pialligo and now our comprehensive centre in Queanbeyan, Jordan is proud of the 'home' the team has built for Canberra pet owners requiring physical rehabilitation for their dogs.

Charlotte operates from DogSwim Canberra on an appointment basis. She is an experienced physiotherapist holding a Bachelor of Physiotherapy from the University of Canberra and a Diploma of Veterinary Physiotherapy from the University of Liverpool. As a proud owner of two horses with experience in Dressage and Show Jumping, Charlotte is deeply passionate about enhancing animal well-being and educating owners on best practices for their care.

Alicia brings close to three decades experience in vet nursing, nutrition and rehabilitation with a career spanning clinical work (incl. surgical assistance), hydrotherapy and canine performance. Alicia consults on an appointment basis and also covers some of our regular hydrotherapy days.

We are absolutely privileged to have Dr Gary Christou on our team. A legend and a stalwart in the NSW animal physical rehabilitation scene for nearly 50 years and very highly regarded among the equine community, he brings a wealth of experience to DogSwim Canberra. Dr Gary treats from our facility on a monthly basis, by appointment.
Every dog is different. Programs are progressed gradually and adjusted based on how your dog responds. We tailor each program based on:
We value a team-based approach to your dog’s care and are happy to work alongside your veterinarian to support rehabilitation, recovery, and ongoing management.
Whilst a vet referral is recommended for post-surgical or complex rehabilitation cases it is not mandatory, especially for fitness, conditioning, or maintenance hydrotherapy.
We combine a welcoming, calm environment with structured, science-informed practice. Our focus is on:
Owners stay with their dogs during sessions and are encouraged to ask questions and learn how to support progress at home.
Your dog’s comfort and safety are always our priority. Dogs are never rushed or pushed beyond their ability. We ensure:
